What applies to you ?
EPF
You can apply to work part-time on the occasion of each birth or adoption of a child.
Part-time can't be denied by your employer administration.
In case of birth, you have the right to work part-time until 3e birthday of your child.
In case of adoption, you have the right to work part-time for 3 years after the child arrives at your home.
How is part-time work organized and granted to raise a child?

You can apply to work part-time at 50%, 60%, 70% or 80% full-time.
Depending on the possibilities of organization of work in your department, part-time work can be organized under the following conditions:
- In a frame daily : your working hours are reduced every day
- In a frame weekly : your number of days worked per week is reduced
- Within the framework of the work cycle : your number of hours worked per cycle is reduced over a single day or over several days

In the case of annualized part-time work, your gross monthly remuneration is equal to 12e your gross annual remuneration, regardless of the distribution of periods worked and not worked.
Your transport costs home - work shall be covered under the same conditions as for a full-time staff member if your part-time working time is at least half the statutory or statutory working time.
You can perform overtime when you are part-time.
However, the monthly overtime hours that you can do is limited to 25 hours multiplied by your working time, which is, for example, 20 hours if you work at 80% (25 hours x 80%).

Leave
You are entitled to same leave a full-time official, including:
- Annual leave equal to 5 times your weekly service obligations (e.g. 20 days if you work part-time at 80% 4 days a week

Part-time periods to raise a child born or adopted from 1er January 2004 are counted as full-time work periods for the calculation of your number of quarters of pension insurance and for the calculating your retirement pension.
Part-time periods to raise a child born or adopted before 1er January 2004 are counted for their effective duration for the calculation of your number of pension insurance quarters.
But every child born or adopted before 1er January 2004 may entitle you to 4 additional quarters that are taken into account in calculating your number of quarters and in calculating your retirement pension. These additional quarters are called enhancement.
To benefit from this one-year bonus, you must have reduced your professional activity according to one of the following conditions:

Authorization to work part-time shall be suspended during maternity or adoption leave or paternity leave. It is also suspended during training in which vocational education incompatible with part-time work is provided. As a result, you are reinstated full-time during your leave or training.
Part-time periods are taken into account as full-time periods when calculating your number of quarters of pension insurance.
On the other hand, they are taken into account for their actual duration when calculating the amount of your retirement pension (5 years to 80% count for example for 5 years for the calculation of the duration of insurance but only for 4 years for the calculation of the pension).
You can, however overcontribute i.e. continue to contribute to the basic pension on the basis of your full-time index salary.
The overcontribution may allow for a maximum of 4 additional quarters for the calculation of the pension.
The overpayment period required to obtain these 4 additional quarters is as follows:

How is the grievor readmitted full-time?
At the end of a period of part-time work, you automatically readmitted full-time on your job or, if this is not possible, on another job in accordance with your status.
You can apply for full-time reinstatement before the end of the current part-time period. You must make your request at least 2 months before the desired date.
However, in the case of serious grounds, including a substantial reduction in your household income or a change in your family situation, full-time reintegration can take place without delay.
You may be allowed to work at part-time for therapeutic reasons if you have any of the following:
- Part-time work allows you to stay or return to work and is recognized as a way to improve your health
- Part-time work allows you to benefit from rehabilitation or vocational rehabilitation to find a job compatible with your health.
You may be allowed to work part-time, if you hold a full-time employment, for create or resume a company and to engage in a private activity remunerated under that company.
