If you need to be accompanied in your process and / or to know your rights, you must contact your town hall, pension fund and your supplementary pension fund.

  • Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly (Aspa) is a monthly benefit paid by your pension fund. Your resources must not exceed a certain amount and you must reside in France on a stable basis. In general, you must be at least 65 years old to receive the Aspa, but there are exceptions.
  • If you do not receive a retirement pension and you have applied for an Aspa but it has been rejected, you can benefit from the simple home care allowance for the elderly. You must meet age, resources and residence requirements in France.
  • If you are disabled (general disability reducing your ability to work or earn by at least 2/3) and you are not old enough to receive the Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly (Aspa), you can get the Supplementary Disability Allowance (Asi). This allowance supplements your income to reach a minimum total amount. You must meet the conditions of resources and residence in France.
  • If you are a jobseeker and have exhausted your unemployment benefits, the specific solidarity allowance (SSA) This can be granted if your monthly resources do not exceed a certain ceiling.

If your accommodation is contracted, you can ask personalized housing assistance (APL).

In other cases, you can ask social housing allowance (SLA).

If you have limited resources, you can request the complementary health solidarity (C2S). It takes care of what is not reimbursed by the Health Insurance. C2S is free or paid depending on your income.

  • If you have difficulty doing certain everyday gestures, you can get a financial assistance to remunerate a person (called home help). She will come to your home to do some household chores (for example, help with meals, cleaning, laundry). To do this, you must respect age and resource requirements.
  • If you are losing autonomy, you can get Personalized Autonomy Allocation (Apa) under certain conditions. This allowance is used to pay (in whole or in part) the expenses necessary to allow you to stay at home. Your needs will be assessed by a medical-social team from the department who will travel to your home to meet you. Following this visit, you will receive a proposal for a support plan.

If your state of health no longer allows you to eat, you can benefit from a financial assistance to receive warm and ready-to-eat meal trays at home. You must meet age and resource requirements.

If you wish to make adaptations to your home related to your loss of autonomy, in particular to make your home accessible or to avoid accidents, you can benefit, under conditions (including resources), from the MaPrimeAdapt help device.

The pension funds may provide you with financial assistance if you need support at home or if you are facing an exceptional situation (for example, discharge from hospital, death of the person living with you).

  • If you use a home help service or if you directly use a home help, you can benefit from a tax credit.
  • If you want to have equipment work done in your home related to the loss of autonomy, you can benefit from a tax credit. It is reserved for people with middle incomes. If your income is modest or very modest, you must apply for the premium MaPrimeAdapt'. You cannot benefit from both the tax credit and the premium.
