Supplementary Disability Allowance (Asi)
Verified 01 January 2026 - Public Service / Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
If you are disabled and under the age of eligibility for the Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly (Aspa), you can obtain theAsi: titleContent, depending on your income. The Asi supplements your income, to make you reach a minimum total amount. It is paid each month by the social security (or the MSA: titleContent if you depend on the farm plan). The rules vary depending on whether you live as a couple or alone. We explain.
You live as a couple
You must have a general disability that reduces your ability to work or earn by at least 2/3.
There is no minimum age to apply for the Asi.
But it is no longer possible to get the Asi as soon as you reach the age to obtain the Aspa (statutory retirement age).

The 2 people receive the Asi
The amount of the Asi paid to your couple each month is equal to the difference between €1,530.60 and the monthly amount of revenue taken into account of your couple.
Each person in your couple receives half of the amount of the Asi calculated in this way.
Example :
For a couple whose revenue taken into account is 700 € per month:
- The total amount of the Asi paid is €1,530.60 - €700 = €830.60 per month.
- Each person of the couple receives €830.60 / 2 = €415.30 per month.
Reminder
The Asi shall not be paid if the amount per month of revenue taken into account of your couple overtakes €1,530.60 per month.
Only 1 person receives the Asi
The maximum amount of the Asi paid each month is equal to the difference between €914.85 and the minimum amount of the invalidity pension (€335.29), which gives €579.56 maximum per month.
Reminder
The Asi shall not be paid where the amount per month of revenue taken into account of your couple overtakes €1,530.60 per month.
1 person receives Asi, the other receives Aspa
The amount of the Asi paid each month is equal to the difference between €765.30 and half of the amount of revenue taken into account of your couple.
Example :
For a couple whose revenue taken into account is of €700 per month:
The amount of the Asi paid is €765.30 - €350 = €415.29 per month.
