The recognition allowance is combined with occupational pensions.

It is non-transferable, meaning that you cannot pass on your entitlement to a veteran's pension to another person.

It is elusive, i.e. its amount is not taken into account in the event of seizure (for example, in the event of seizure or seizure on remuneration).

It is not taxable or taken into account in the calculation of resources when applying for social assistance.

Upon the death of the recipient of the combatant recognition allowance, the death certificate must be sent to theOnacVG: titleContent of his department.

Please note

When the recipient of the combatant recognition allowance dies (regardless of age), the allowance is no longer paid. However, a spouse (widow or widower) or Civil partnership partner, as soon as he or she is at least 75 years of age, receives an additional half share of the family quota for income tax purposes.

From 60 years

To obtain the combatant recognition allowance from the age of 60, you must make a personal request as soon as you have the fighter card.

In addition, you must:

  • Either receive a military disability pension compensating one or more disabilities related to services performed during operations declared a war campaign or external operations
  • Either receive a military disability pension compensating for incapacity of at least 50% and receive one of the following allowances (Disabled Adult Allowance - AAH or simple allocation)
  • Either receive the Solidarity Allowance for the Elderly (Aspa).
