You want to get a help financial for reduce the amount of your rent (or fee if you are a residential resident)? You can benefit from thePersonalized housing assistance (APL) if you respect certain conditions. The APL is paid by the family allowance fund (Caf) or the agricultural social mutuality (MSA) according to your diet social security. We tell you what steps you need to take to benefit from it, depending on whether you are under the aegis of the Caf or MSA.

The conditions differ depending on who you are tenant or residential resident :
Tenant
You must comply with conditions related to your situation (data subject), your resources and your accommodation.
Conditions related to the person
You can benefit from the APL if you are:
- Tenant
- Roommate (the APL calculation takes into account the share of rent paid by each)
- Sub-tenant declared to the owner of a unit rented in whole or in part, provided that under 30 or to be hosted by a welcoming family.
You can benefit from the APL even if you are a foreigner provided you have a valid residence permit.
There is no minimum age to benefit from the PLA. Therefore, you can be a minor and benefit from the APL. If you are a minor, the lease must be signed by your parents, but the rent receipt may be in your name. If you are emancipated minor, the lease must be in your name.
If you have a child in alternate care, you and the other parent can benefit from the LPA, but only for the total of the days in the year that each child is in their home.

The LPA is calculated on the basis of numerous scales taking into account the following:
- Number of dependants usually living with you
- Amount of your resources, those of the person with whom you live as a couple (spouse, Civil partnership partner, common-law partner) and those of those who usually live with you
- Value of your real estate and financial assets and those of the person with whom you live as a couple and of the persons usually living with you, when this value is greater than €30,000
- The amount of your rent or royalty (if you are a residential resident).
Please note
In the event of an increase in your rent, the increase is not taken into account immediately in the calculation of your APL during the year. Yes, the payment of the APL may be suspended or interrupted in the following cases:

Yes. Both the tenant and the sub-tenant of a part of the dwelling can receive the LPA provided they meet certain criteria:

Does my APL increase if my rent increases?
No. The increase in your rent will not be taken into account immediately in the calculation of your APL during the year.
However, at 1er In January of the following year, your Caf will automatically recalculate your APL based on the amount of your rent for the previous July.
Is the APL payment maintained if I can no longer pay my rent?
No, with some exceptions. If you have not paid your rent for at least 2 months, your APL payment may be interrupted.
