The procedure is completely secure and dematerialized (it is not necessary to fill in a paper certificate).

Warning  

The application only supports vehicles registered in the new format (AA-123-AA) and vehicles of type VP, TM, QM, QLEM, CL, CYCL, CTTE, MTL, MTT1 or MTT2.

These are passenger cars, tricycles and quadricycles, 2- or 3-wheel mopeds and motorcycles.

Are you selling or buying a used vehicle?

Welcome to the Simplimmat app.

Create your Simplimmat account on your smartphone by clicking on the "discover" button, then enter your phone number: A text message with a confirmation code appears to validate your number.

Login now with the France Connect service by entering the username and password of the digital identity you use on one of your digital accounts such as for example impots.gouv.fr or your AMELI health insurance account.

Then save the personal code that will be used to protect your access to the application.

On the day of the sale, the first step is for the seller of the vehicle, to click on « sell or give my vehicle ». The seller enters the data relating to it.

The next step is for the seller to send the record of his vehicle to the buyer. He checks the information in the file and enters the buyer's phone number in order to transmit it to him.

An SMS is sent to the buyer to invite him to validate the purchase of the vehicle in the application.

For this, the buyer, with Simplimmat, simply scans the QR code that appears on the seller's phone.

It remains to validate the sales file with the buyer.

The file is displayed and everyone checks all the information before signing the transfer declaration on their screen.

The official transfer declaration document can be obtained in one click and registered in the application.

If you have an iPhone, it will appear on the screen automatically.

If you have an Android phone, you will find it in the « download » folder of your device.

Once the assignment is signed and recorded by the Simplimmat app, the buyer can request his new vehicle registration certificate. It selects the button « request my vehicle registration certificate ».

All that remains for the buyer is to pay the registration fees to finalize his request for editing a vehicle registration certificate in his name.

Once the payment has been made, the print request is transmitted. A provisional certificate of registration is available for download until the final vehicle registration certificate is received within 3-4 days.

The seller and the buyer can each find the transfer certificate in the application under the heading « consult the list of my vehicles ».

The buyer will also be able to find his provisional circulation document. The latter being valid for one month.

The seller must provide the following document:

  • Proof of roadworthiness, unless the vehicle is exempted.
    • If the passenger car (VP), the pickup or the motorhome of 3.5 tons maximum is more than 4 years old, the inspection must be less than 6 months old at the date of submission of the application for the establishment of the new registration certificate. When a counter-visit has been prescribed, the period of 2 months granted to carry it out must not be exceeded.
    • If the motor vehicle with 2 or 3 wheels or motor quadricycle more than 5 years old, the inspection must be less than 6 months old at the date of submission of the application for the new registration certificate. When a counter-visit has been prescribed, the period of 2 months granted to carry it out must not be exceeded.

    If the deadline is exceeded, a new check will have to be made.

You will receive the final registration certificate, sent by La Poste in followed letter, at your home within a period that may vary.

It may take a few days or even weeks to process your application for a registration certificate for the most complex cases. Timelines also vary depending on the time of year: a high influx of applications can extend processing time.

You must pay attention to the address you provide in the online procedure. It must be as complete as possible (building number, apartment number, letterbox number, floor, corridor, staircase, « resident at home », etc.).

Your mailbox must show your first and last name.

You can track the shipment of your registration certificate either with the registration number or with the tracking number of the Post Office. This tracking number has been communicated to you by email or SMS if you have entered your mobile phone number.

Please note

Upon receipt of your registration certificate, if you hold a national identity card (NIC) in bank card format, you can also download your digital registration certificate in the France Identity application.

You must keep the old certificate of registration for 5 yearsand then destroy it.
