Yes, a trailer or caravan must be registered. Based on the total permissible laden weight of the vehicle (PTAC), it must have its own registration number or may have the registration number of the vehicle towing it. The regulations differ depending on whether the PTAC is greater than 500 kg or not.

PTAC of more than 500 kg
If your trailer or caravan has a PTAC: titleContent over 500 kg, you must apply for a certificate of registration (previously called ₪) for the trailer to be allowed to run.
The procedures are identical to those for private vehicles new or used.
The caravan or trailer must then carry a license plate with the number indicated on its own certificate of registration.
THEterritorial identifier may be different from that of the towing vehicle.
PTAC less than or equal to 500 kg
The trailer or caravan must have a registration plate identical to that of the towing vehicle. The caravan or trailer does not need a separate registration certificate.
If you have manufactured a trailer weighing less than 500 kg, you must have it approved for use. For approval, you must contact the Dreal: titleContent on which you depend.
