No, a vehicle (car, van, motorcycle, ...) that is no longer in a driving condition cannot be sold to an individual, even in spare parts. It can be sold only to one automotive professional.
If the vehicle is subject to roadworthiness testHowever, the minutes can no longer state ‘non-rolling vehicle’. Similarly, it is not possible to have a certificate of registration (previously called ₪) with the words ‘non-rolling vehicle’.
However, you can keep a vehicle at home that can no longer drive if you want to:
- Recover and reuse parts of the vehicle for strictly personal use
- Or transform, repair, or rehabilitate this vehicle for strictly personal use.
You must, in these cases, make a declaration of withdrawal from circulation.
If you want to get rid of the vehicle, you must hand it over to a approved VHU center in the case of a passenger car, a pickup truck, a 2- or 3-wheel motor vehicle or a motor quadricycle.
To be accepted free of charge by these professionals, the vehicle must still have its essential components (powertrain, catalytic converter for vehicles that were equipped with it when they were placed on the market or bodywork). In addition, it must not contain unapproved waste or equipment that has been added to it.
