Certificate of registration: with which documents to prove your identity?

To apply for a certificate of registration (previously called -), you must prove your identity. The document to be produced depends on your situation.

Individual

You must present one the following documents:

  • Passport french or foreigners
  • Driving license french or foreigners
  • Fighter Card issued by the French authorities
  • Identity or movement card issued by the French military authorities
  • Temporary or multiannual residence card, residence card, certificate of residence of Algerian national, residence card of a national of a Member State of the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA).

Warning  

These documents must be in your name and valid.

Legal entity of industrial, commercial or civil type

You must present one the following documents:

  • Certificate of registration in RNE: titleContent under 2 years of age
  • Extract Kbis under 2 years of age
  • Journal of legal announcements dating back less than 2 years indicating the name of the person in charge, the corporate object, the address and the registration number in the RNE.

If the business is in constitution, you must present one the following documents:

  • Certificate of registration in the RNE
  • Extract Kbis
  • Certificate attesting registration with the RNE and stating that the business is waiting for its identification number Insee: titleContent.

You must present the 2 following documents:

  • Certificate of registration in RNE: titleContent or extract Kbis from RCS: titleContent or company identification card issued by the chamber of trades
  • Proof of the address where the commercial activity is carried out.

Association, trade union, professional civil business

You must present the 2 following documents:

  • Statutes, or any other proof of legal existence where appears the name of the person in charge and the address of the organization
  • Proof that the organization is declared to a prefecture (or sub-prefecture), or recognized by an administration, a court or a professional body.

Social and Economic Committee (former company Committee) or Establishment Committee

You must present the 2 following documents:

  • Copy of the minutes of the elections
  • Deliberation of the committee designating the person responsible for signing the application for registration.

Real estate condominium

You must present the 2 following documents:

  • Certificate issued by a notary certifying the existence of the condominium
  • Minutes of the deliberation of the general meeting or the syndicate of co-owners authorizing the trustee to buy the vehicle.
