The procedure for reporting and correcting an error varies according to whether it is the french driving license or the international driving license.

The process for reporting an error depends on whether you have received your driver's license for less than or more than 6 months.

You have received your driver's license for less than 6 months

If you notice an error on your driver's license received less than 6 months ago, you must report the error online on the website of France Titres - ANTS: titleContent :

This can be one of the following errors:

  • Failure to spell or enter your marital status (error of entry of your fact not corrected by the instructor service)
  • Forgot category or wrong category
  • Error in the validity date of the new title
  • Restrictive mention forgotten. For example, automatic transmission.
  • Extra fee forgotten. For example, heavy trailer.

The issuance of the new permit is free of charge.

When you receive your driving license, if you see no category, you must report it online within 6 months on the website of theANTS: titleContent.

Beyond this period of 6 months, and before the end of the period of 1 year, the administration is not obliged to examine your request. You lose the benefit of the relevant category beyond the 1-year period. The period starts from the date of receipt of your driving license, or from the date on which it is established that you were aware of it. You will need to pass the license again to be able to drive a vehicle of this category.
