What change for your electricity bill on August 1st?

The CRE recommends changes to regulated electricity sales tariffs (RFEP). Each 1^er in august, these take into account, inter alia, the deliberations on distribution and transmission networks.

The Government accepted his proposal for a average increase of +2.5% in regulated electricity tariffs at 1^er August 2026. This increase concerns about 20 million households subscribing to this type of contract (different from market rates). The draft deliberation shall be forwarded to the Higher Energy Council for its opinion.

The average level of EVTRs is increased by +€5.98 including tax/megawatt hour. This represents a net average increase in electricity bills of about 26 € TTC per year (example: for an average consumption of 4.5 MWh per year, the VAT bill will increase from €1,046 to €1,072).

The CRE states that this increase is linked to that of the TURPE (tariff for the use of public electricity networks) and to the integration of the new capacity mechanism.

Consultation on structural changes to be made to regulated tariffs

The deliberation also takes into account, from 1^er August, proposals under the public consultation on developments in the method of constructing regulated electricity tariffs, launched by the CRE in May 2026.

These developments include:

• the full/off-peak option of the regulated tariffs, which will now be available from a subscribed power of 3 kVA (compared to 6 kVA until now);
• the amount of the subscription that will henceforth be differentiated between the powers 24 and 30 kVA for the subscribers of the Tempo option.

The second part of the consultation, open until 24 July 2026, concerns developments that can be incorporated from February 2027.
