Complementary health solidarity: the ceilings of resources to benefit from it evolve

Depending on your resources, complementary health solidarity (C2S):

• costs you nothing;
• costs less than €1 per day per person.

The resource ceilings to be eligible for the scheme were increased on 1^er April 2026.

The resources taken into account to determine your eligibility for the supplementary solidarity health insurance are those that you received during the 12 months preceding the penultimate month of your application. For example, for a request made in April 2026, the reference period for taking into account your resources is 1^er March 2025 to February 28, 2026.

You can check your eligibility for the solidarity complementary health insurance thanks to a simulator of the portal mesdroitssociaux.gouv.fr.

The request for complementary health solidarity can be made:

• online, on your ameli account (or on your private space of the Mutualité sociale agricole, if you are dependent on this plan);

• by sending to your health insurance fund a application form completed and accompanied by the required supporting documents.

You can also establish a power of attorney so that a third party makes the request on your behalf at a reception point.

After receiving your application, your health insurance fund will review your application within 2 months and inform you of its decision.

If your application is accepted, your entire household benefits from the complementary health solidarity, in other words:

• yourself;
• your spouse, cohabiting partner or Civil partnership partner (civil solidarity pact);
• dependants under 25 years of age.
