All information about the national patent diploma.

Reminder

The written tests of the patent cover 4 subjects: French (3 hours), mathematics (2 hours), history-geography and moral and civic education (2 hours) and science (1 hour: 2 disciplines between physics-chemistry, science and earth life, technology).

The oral test allows to evaluate the quality of the expression, on a project conducted in the history of the arts or as part of an interdisciplinary practical teaching (EPI) or one of the educational courses. It takes the form of a 15-minute individual interview (5 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of interview) or a 25-minute group interview (10 minutes of presentation and 15 minutes of interview).

FYI

The note of continuous control is calculated from the annual averages of all disciplines (all at the same coefficient) obtained by students in class of 3e, and no longer from the eight components of the common foundation of knowledge, skills and culture, this is what your child needs to know at the end of compulsory education (at 16 years old).

A new balance is also established between continuous and terminal testing : the latter now account for 60% of the final score (compared to 50% at present), while continuous monitoring accounts for 40% (compared to 50% previously).

Baccalaureate

For the general and technological baccalaureate, continuous testing accounts for 40% of the final grade, with the remaining 60% divided between the French advance test (written and oral), the mathematics advance test (as of june 2026), the philosophy test, the specialty tests and the Grand oral.
