Professional baccalaureate: change from the 2026-2027 school year
Publié le 27 février 2026 - Public Service / Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
The organization of the final year will be modified for vocational high school students from the beginning of the school year in September 2026. The baccalaureate exams will no longer take place in mid-May, and the modalities of preparation for professional integration or further studies will change.

From the 2026-2027 school year, the written examinations for the professional baccalaureate will take place in mid-june, and no longer in mid-May; the timetable for these tests is thus aligned with that of the general and technological track tests.
Please note
After their written tests, the vocational high school students will benefit from preparation for the project oral and the test (this test is intended for candidates who have obtained a general average of between 8 and 9.9 out of 20 in the common tests of the baccalaureate and an average greater than or equal to 10 out of 20 in all the professional tests of the baccalaureate); the preparation for these tests is organized by the pedagogical teams of each school.
From the 2026-2027 school year, vocational high school students will also benefit from 2 weeks of personalized support before mid-March, before the end of the wishes on Parcoursup ; these 2 weeks will be complementary hours of support at the course (these hours distributed throughout the schooling in vocational high school allow students to secure their course and refine their school and then professional project).
The personalized support period will take the form, depending on the post-baccalaureate project of each student:
- 2 weeks of professional training (paid by the State), in addition to mandatory periods of training in the workplace ;
- or 2 weeks of coaching time to prepare for further studies.
The organization of these 2 weeks of personalized support will be entrusted to each school; this should allow to adapt the implementation of these weeks to the local context, the territorial economic fabric and existing partnerships.
Please note
These 2 weeks of personalized support, which will take place in March, will replace the “differentiated course” (also called “Y course”) organized until the end of the school year.
The differentiated pathway was implemented during the 2024-2025 school year. It lasted 6 weeks, then it was reduced to 4 weeks for this 2025-2026 school year.
Like the weeks of personalized support, the differentiated course allows high school students to choose between 2 paths:
- a path of preparation for professional integration, which takes the form of one or more periods of training in a professional environment to be considered as stepping stones towards employment;
- a path of preparation for the pursuit of higher education, the objective of which is to promote the success of post-baccalaureate studies (a methodological reinforcement to work independently, a discovery of post-baccalaureate training, the implementation of projects conducive to the development of psychosocial skills, etc.).
