New provisions
Two orders of 17 August 2026 change the criteria to benefit from Coup de pouce Large-scale renovation of individual houses and apartments and Coup de pouce Heating.

Do you want to carry out major renovation works in your individual accommodation (house or apartment)? You can benefit from so-called financial assistance Boost Large-scale renovation of individual houses and apartments (BAR-TH-174 and BAR-TH-175 files). We tell you what you need to know.
To qualify for the bonus, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be an owner of the dwelling (owner-occupier or owner-lessor)
- Occupy or rent housing as primary residence
- Have a home located in Metropolitan France
- Have a home built more than 15 years ago
- Not to be entitled financial aid from the National Housing Agency (Anah), in particular MaPrimeRénov'
- Have modest resources
- Justify your income via the reference tax income (RFR) of the year N-2 (for example, RFR 2024 for an application in 2026).

To qualify for the bonus, you must complete a set of works.
The works can be carried out in 1 or 2 steps.
The possibility to make the works in 2 stages is reserved for housing classified E, F or G before the works.
The 2nde This stage must allow at least Class C to be reached if the dwelling was rated F or G, and at least Class B if the dwelling was rated E before the works.
When the quotation has been signed by December 31, 2025, works must be completed by December 31, 2026. However, if the quotation was signed from January 17, 2026, there is no completion date to be met.

Conditions to be respected for the 1st stage of works
For the 1re works step, all of the following must be followed:
- Works must allow for a gain of at least 2 energy classes on the energy performance diagnostics (EPD)
- Works must include at least 2 of the following 4 positions, each covering at least 25% of the areas concerned. These 4 stations are wall insulation (inside or outside), insulation of low floors, insulation of the roof, lost attic or roof-terrace, replacement of windows / French doors or installation of double windows.
- Insulation laid must, unless it is technically, architecturally or heritage impossible, achieve the minimum thermal resistance of 7 m² K/W for the lost attic, 6 m² K/W for roof crawlers, 6.5 m² K/W for roof terraces, 3.7 m² K/W for walls insulated from the inside, 4.4 m² K/W for walls insulated from the outside, 3 m² K/W for low floors.
K/W is the capacity of an insulator to prevent heat (W) from passing through a surface (m2) when there is a temperature difference (K). - Installed windows must meet thermal and solar performance requirements, unless justified impossibility. Roof windows must have a Uw less than or equal to 1.5 W/m²K and a Sw less than or equal to 0.36. For other windows and French doors, the performance shall be either Uw less than or equal to 1.3 W/m²K with Sw greater than or equal to 0.3, or Uw less than or equal to 1.7 W/m²K with Sw greater than or equal to 0.36.
Uw corresponds to the loss of heat and Sw to the supply of sunlight.
Requirements for all stages of works
Regardless of the works stage, all of the following must be followed:
- No new heating or hot water system may be install if the equipment used emits more than 150 grams of CO₂ per kilowatt hour (150 gCO₂/) if this equipment provides more than 30% the heating needs of the dwelling
- It is forbidden to keep a heating or hot water system whose equipment emits more than 300 grams of CO₂ per kilowatt hour (300 gCO₂/) provided that this equipment ensures more than 30% of the heat of the housing
- After renovation, greenhouse gas emissions per m² must be inferior or equal to those before the works
- For audits carried out from 1er april 2024, if 1 step of works (or the 2 cumulative) allows a gain of at least 4 energy classes on the DPEthen, this step must comply with the criterion on the heat losses, i.e. the heat losses of the renovated dwelling must be lower than those of a reference dwelling.

Then, to apply for the bonus, you must follow the following steps:
- Define the project renovation (prior performance of the energy audit, definition of works and quantification of the corresponding energy consumption before and after works)
- Check the eligibility criteria (principal residence, ...)
- Choose one Signatory company of the charter Coup de pouce Large-scale renovation of individual houses and apartments. You can compare the different offers available on each company's website.
- Accept the offer of the company of signature corresponding to your works before signing the quote of your works
- Select an RGE Professional for carrying out the works
- Sign the quotation offered by the RGE professional
- Have the works carried out by this professional
- Update energy audit on the basis of the works actually achieved, where the works implemented differ from the recommended works
- Forward documents proof of your works to the company that signed the charter (energy audit, invoices, ...). Invoices must mention the list of works made with their performance levels.
It is strongly recommended to respect the following points:
- Sign and date the quote in handwritten form (by hand)
- Check that the premium relates exclusively to works and that the quote clearly specifies their nature (brands, references, performance...).) If it is personalized advice, for example, it will not be eligible for a bonus.
- If the works are carried out by a subcontractor, check that the quotation mentions the name of the subcontractor and the fact that the works will be made by him
- Check that the quote does not include an indication of a down payment whose payment date would be before the signing of your contract with the company signatory (this mention is false and prohibited).

The criteria depend on the following information:
- Living area of your home (m²)
- Energy class on EPD (G, F, E, …) before and after works
- If the works are carried out in 1 or 2 step(s).
