Lost your wallet or bag with your papers? We explain the procedure to follow. It varies according to whether it is the papers of an adult or a minor.

Major

If you have lost several of the following documents at the same time (identity card, passport, driver's license, Vitale card, voter card or family record book), you must first request a new one identity card or a new passport.

For the other documents, you will need to present a valid piece of identification.

The replacement of each document must be the subject of a independent request :

Warning

Once your renewal requests have been made, the papers you have lost are rendered permanently unusable. If you find them later, give them to the issuing authority (for example, prefecture). You can no longer use them.

Minor

If several of the following documents of a minor have been lost (identity card, passport, driving license, Vital card), it is necessary first request a new one identity card or a new passport.

For the other documents, you will need to present a valid piece of identification.

The replacement of each document must be the subject of a independent request :

Warning

Once the renewal requests have been made, the lost papers are rendered permanently unusable. If they are found later, they must be handed over to the issuing authority (e.g. prefecture). They can no longer be used.
