Are you between the ages of 16 and 25 (or even 30 in some cases) and have difficulty finding accommodation? You can be housed in a hostel for young FJT workers (or Habitat Jeunes). To do this, you must be in active employment or in the process of social and professional integration. FJTs offer accommodation whether or not furnished and common areas (e.g. restaurant, laundry, computer room, library). We explain the information you need to know.

The hostels for young workers provide shared accommodation and services.

You must be between the ages of 16 and 25. Some households accommodate people up to 30 years of age.

You must be in a professional activity or in the process of social and professional integration, particularly after taking charge of the Ase: titleContent.

Some households also welcome job seekers or people in training (apprentices, alternates, students...).

Who shall I contact

You must then apply to the household of your choice.

You sign an occupancy contract with the manager of the home.

The contract shall contain the following elements:

  • Conditions of admission
  • Contract Start Date
  • Conditions for termination of the contract
  • Amount of the monthly fee (type of rent) and all ancillary services (e.g. laundry)
  • Amount of security deposit
  • Description of the premises and facilities and communal areas at your disposal

Accommodation costs generally include:

  • Monthly fee
  • Security deposit equal to 1 month's fee (this amount is returned on your departure)
  • Individual participation in ancillary services

Yeah. Yeah. All or part of these costs may be borne by personalized housing assistance (CHA) if the home is agreed (most households are) and/or aid paid by the Solidarity Housing Fund (FSL).

The contract shall be concluded for a period of time one month.

The employment contract may be terminated at your own initiative or at the initiative of the home manager.

At your initiative

You may terminate your contract at any time provided you comply with a notice period of 8 days to notify the home manager.

To do this, you must send a registered letter with notice of receipt to your household manager.

This period of notice begins on the day on which the manager receives the mail and signs the acknowledgement of receipt.

During the 8 days, you continue to pay your accommodation costs (royalty,...).

At the initiative of the home manager

The manager of the household can terminate your contract at any time. They must do so with a certain period of notice to warn you that they will terminate the contract.

The period of notice shall be:

Termination of the contract must be served on you by one of the following means:

During the notice period, you must continue to pay the accommodation costs that correspond to the only period in which you actually occupy the premises.
