No, there is no resource cap to be met in order to qualify for the AoA. But some revenues are not cumulative with the AAA. We present you the information to know.
No, there are no resource requirements to be met to obtain the Personalized Autonomy Allowance (Apa).
If you fill in the conditions of age, residence and loss of autonomy, you can obtain the AoA regardless of the amount of your resources.
On the other hand, amount of the Apa depends on the amount of your resources. Beyond a certain amount, a progressive participation will be required (or “out of pocket”).
Apa is not available when you receive at least one of the following benefits:
- Simple Allocation social assistance for the elderly
- Aid from pension funds
- Financial assistance to pay a home help
- Disability Compensation Benefit (DCP)
- Constant Third-Party Assistance mark-up
- Third Party Supplementary Benefit (TPIP). But the person who receives the PSSRB may file an Apa application file, so that it can then choose, between these two aids, the one that suits it best.
The Apa is not subject to any recovery of the sums received either during the lifetime or at the death of the elderly person.
Apa is tax-exempt. It may entitle you to a tax credit.
