Publié le 13 avril 2026 - Public Service / Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

The level of the scholarship received by a student is generally set according to the income of his parents. The amounts for the scholarships awarded in the 2026-2027 academic year, depending on the level of resources, were published on April 10 at the Official Journal.

As a student, you can apply for a higher education scholarship on social criteria if you encounter material difficulties. The income used to determine the scholarship in the 2026-2027 academic year is the income received in 2024 (2025 tax notice) by your parents or legal guardian. There are exceptions: for example, if you are married, have a past or have a child for tax purposes, your only resources (or those of the tax household to which you are attached) can be used to establish your scholarship level.

An order published in Official Journal of 10 April 2026 indicates, for the academic year 2026-2027, the resource ceilings relating to the award of the higher education scholarship on social criteria. You can find on the table annexed to the order, the various resource ceilings and the corresponding stock exchange levels.

Please note

The income taken into account is shown in the line “gross income” of the tax or non-tax notice.

What is the amount of the scholarship?

Another decree published on April 10 specifies the annual amount of scholarship you receive according to your step. The scholarship is paid to you over 10 months, except in some cases where you can continue to receive the scholarship during the summer holidays.
