Merit Aid for Scholarship Students

You can benefit from it if you fill in the 3 following conditions:

• You perceive a scholarship on social criteria or a annual specific allocation for 2026-2027
• You got a mention Very good to the bin
• You will be joining a higher education institution in September 2026.

You can benefit from the help whatever your nationality.

A student may not receive merit assistance more than Three times.

You must have filed a student social record (DSE).

If your EHR is accepted, you have no further steps to take.

The rectorate transmits directly to the Crous: titleContent the list of baccalaureate holders with a mention Very good.

Crous will inform you if you are eligible for merit support.

The final decision on whether to grant or maintain merit aid is taken by the Rector of the host academy. It will be yours notified.

To challenge the refusal decision, you can send a ex gratia to the rector of the academy.

If you have not obtained satisfaction, you can submit a hierarchical appeal to the Minister of Higher Education, obligatory through the rector of the academy.

You can also appeal to the administrative court attached to your academy.

You have to do these appeal within 2 months which follow the notification of refusal.

The annual amount of aid shall be €900.

It is paid from September to June in 10 monthly payments from €90.

Merit aid may be combined with a support for international mobility and one specific one-off aid.

If you do not comply with the conditions of pedagogical registration, attendance to classes and presentation to exams, the merit aid may be withdrawn.
