Solidarity rent reduction: what amounts from 1 June 2025?

Publié le 28 mai 2025 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

Are you a tenant of social housing? You can benefit from the solidarity rent reduction if you meet certain income conditions. The level of your rent reduction, which depends in particular on the number of people living in your home, changes from 1er June 2025. Service-Public.fr presents the modalities of this arrangement.

The solidarity rent reduction (SRR) is a housing subsidy for the most vulnerable households. The scheme consists of a rent reduction, the level of which varies according to:

  • the composition of your household;
  • the geographical area where your accommodation is located.

In order to benefit from EPIRB, you must reside in a low-income housing contract or managed by a mixed-economy business, which is eligible for personalized housing assistance (LHA). You can still benefit from the solidarity rent reduction whether you collect the PLA or not.

Please note

Household dwellings, as well as dwellings located in overseas departments and communities, are excluded from the scheme.

What are the EPIRB amounts as of June 1, 2025?

An order issued in Official Journal of 21 May 2025 sets new amounts for the solidarity rent reduction, applicable from 1er June 2025. The amount of your EPIRB depends in particular on the geographical area (1, 1a, 2 or 3) on which your accommodation depends; to know it, you can use our simulator.

What steps should be taken to benefit from EPIRB?

If you are eligible for the solidarity rent reduction, you do not have to take any steps.

  • When you are a beneficiary of the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Agricultural Social Mutual Society (MSA): the amounts of your LPA and your EPIRB are calculated automatically and transmitted to your landlord.
  • When you are not a beneficiary: your lessor calculates your EPIRB based on the information you provided to him during the annual survey for the application of the solidarity rent supplement (Income Tax Tax Notice or Non-Income Tax Notice, etc.).

Please note

If you benefit from the solidarity rent reduction, your landlord must indicate it on your rent receipt.
