If you are an apprentice, you can benefit from various types of assistance: scholarships, assistance with housing, transport, meals, health, etc. They vary depending on whether you are between the ages of 15 and 17 or at least 18.

15-17 years

If your monthly net income does not exceed €1,117.26, your parents may be entitled to the back-to-school allowance (ARS).

It is possible to obtain a financial support for the school canteen.

You can benefit from discounted rates and specific offers to travel by public transport.

  • If you want to pass the B permit or the A2 permit or the A1 permit, you can get a zero-interest loan called permit at 1 euro per day. Once the loan has been granted, the amount of the loan is paid to the driving school. You repay the loan by monthly installments of €30 maximum.
  • Some local authorities (city, department, region) offer aid to finance the driving license. One online service makes it possible to know the financial aid.

18 years and older

The aid vary depending on whether you will be a tenant, roommate or owner of your future home.

Personal housing assistance (APL, ALS, ALF)

You may be entitled to a personal housing assistance. It allows you to reduce the amount of your rent (or your royalty if you live in a household).

Help to pay the security deposit for you

Via the device called Avance Loca-PassAction, Housing can pay for you on security deposit which is requested by the owner of the dwelling.

Help to pay part of your rent

  • If you are on an apprenticeship contract in a private sector company non-agricultural, you can benefit from Mobili-Jeune support. It allows you to cover part of your rent (or fee for home-housing) during your work-study training.
  • If you are on an apprenticeship contract in a company of the agricultural sectorHowever, you can apply for AgriMobili-Jeune assistance.

  • Some Opco provide assistance to a young person becoming an apprentice to finance their first equipment or material. Ask your CFA before signing your contract.
  • Some regional councils also provide assistance to apprentices to finance their first equipment or material. Conditions may vary. Learn more about the website of your region.

Under certain conditions, you can get the complementary health solidarity (C2S). It covers health costs that are not reimbursed by the Health Insurance.

If you have a net monthly income greater than €1,117.26., you may be entitled to the activity bonus. This premium supplements the income of low-income earners and supports their purchasing power.

Several devices make it possible to obtain a financial assistance to pass the driving license.

Your alternating national card gives you access to various discounts. Ask each establishment.
