If you are recruited without a professional qualification in the hospital public service, you will receive training to prepare you for this job. Whatever your job, you can take training courses throughout your career to help you maintain or acquire skills. Your initial and continuing professional training is included in your institution's training plan. We explain the rules to know.

The initial theoretical and practical training aims to help you prepare for this job.
Your institution will include in the training plan the initial training planned for you.
After being consulted, you may be required to take the initial vocational training offered.
Objectives of continuing training as part of the training plan
The aim of continuing education is guarantee, maintain or improve your knowledge and skills.
The aim is to ensure:
- Your immediate adaptation to your workstation
- Your adaptation to the foreseeable evolution of jobs
- Developing your knowledge or skills and acquiring new ones.
You can also follow studies promoting professional advancement (promotional studies) and leading to a diploma or certificate from the health and social sector.
These diplomas or certificates accessible through promotional studies are listed by ministerial order.
You can finally benefit from conversion training to access jobs requiring a new qualification or new professional activities.
The institutions include in the training plan the training courses envisaged for you.
This plan also includes information in connection with:
- The vocational training leave
- The skills assessment
- Actions to validate the experience gained
- The personal training account
- The periods of professionalization..
One training passport is given to you upon entry into the hospital public service.
This passport is your property. It is up to you to update it throughout your career.
The training passport shall contain the following information:
- Diplomas and qualifications obtained during the initial training course and professional qualifications obtained in the context of continuing education or the validation of acquired experience
- Nature and duration of training followed and delivered as part of continuing education
- Professional experience acquired during training or traineeship periods
- Skills Checks carried out
- The jobs performed and the professional skills employed in those jobs.
The passport allows training decisions taken during training interviews or following competency assessments to be included in an annex.
Conditions for access to continuing education as part of the training plan
You benefit from a priority access to continuing education if you are in any of the following situations :
- You belong to a body Category C or hold a Category C job and you do not have a bachelor's degree
- You are a disabled beneficiary of the obligation of employment
- It is noted, after consulting the occupational physician, that you are particularly exposed, given your individual professional situation, to a risk of professional wear and tear.
When the training you request is provided by your employer institution, you automatically benefit from it.
If several courses correspond to your request, your employer institution may decide to have you follow the training it provides itself.
You may be required to take training under continuing education at the request of your institution or at your initiative :

You may be required to attend continuing education training at the request of your institution.

If you have not received training under the plan in the last 3 years, you are entitled to take one of these courses.
However, this access may be deferred for a maximum of 1 year due to service requirements after notification of the CAP: titleContent or CCP: titleContent.

You can apply for training as part of the training plan, subject to service requirements.

Period of continuous training under the plan
The training courses included in the training plan take place during working time.
However, they may take place, with your written consent, outside working time within the following limits :
- 50 hours per year for training linked to the foreseeable evolution of jobs or which contributes to the return or retention in employment
- 80 hours per year for training aimed at developing your skills or acquiring new skills.
When you take training outside working hours with the agreement of your institution, you benefit from the social protection provided in the event of accident at work.
FYI
Your denial to take training outside working time does not constitute a fault or ground for punishment.
Your remuneration is maintainede if you are taking a training course listed in the training plan during your working time.
