General case
To enroll in a higher education institution to prepare a degree, you must pay a registration fee.
You are preparing several degrees
In the same establishment
If you are enrolled in the same institution to prepare several degrees, you must pay:
- on 1er tuition fees at the full rate of tuition fees,
- then the other fees at the reduced rate of registration fees.
By way of derogation, if you are authorized, without having fully validated one year of study, to enroll in another year of study, you must pay only the tuition fees provided for that last year.
In different establishments
If you are enrolled in several institutions to simultaneously prepare several different degrees, you must pay a fee for each degree.
If these tuition fees have different rates, the tuition fee paid first is the one with the highest amount.
By way of derogation, if you are authorized, without having fully validated one year of study, to enroll in another year of study, you must pay only the tuition fees provided for that last year.

Registration in a public BTS does not give rise to the payment of registration fees.
Tuition fees for public agricultural higher education institutions and those under the Ministry of Culture and Communication are set by specific decrees.
Educational institutions may also issue their own diplomas. They then set the registration fees freely. You must contact them to know the amount.

Transfer of registration
If you transfer your registration between 2 establishments, a sum of €23 is retained by the 1er establishment for the management of the registration and its transfer.
If this transfer occurs at the end of 1er Half of the tuition fees are paid to the new host institution.
Regulation
Registration fees must be paid in one go.
However, the establishments can offer you a payment of the fees in 3 times. Check with the property.
What is CVEC?
The amount of the CVEC for the 2025-2026 academic year is €105.

Payment of contribution
You log in to CVEC.student.gouv.fr after you have previously created your account on MyServices.student.gouv.fr (the site CVEC.student.gouv.fr is accessible via MyServices.student.gouv.fr).
You can also pay in cash at a post office counter. A payment notice will be issued immediately.
Please note
if you enroll in several courses for the same academic year, you pay the CVEC only once during the 1re registration.
Attestation
You can get a CVEC clearance certificate once your account is complete www.CVEC.etudiant.gouv.fr created.
You must present it to your higher education institution at the time of registration.
If the registration process at your institution is done online, you will be asked to provide the certificate number.
If your registration procedure is physical, you must present your certificate (on smartphone or printed, depending on the establishment) at the time of registration.
Request for reimbursement
If you opt out after paying the CVEC or if you interrupt your studies during the year, you will not be able to get a refund of this contribution.
The student social security scheme was permanently abolished on 31 August 2019.
All students are affiliates the compulsory health insurance scheme.
Scholar
If you are a scholarship holder of the French government or ward of the nation, you are exempt from registration fees.

You have a conditional scholarship notification
If you perceive the scholarship on social criteria or a annual specific allocation, you can apply for an exemption from the CVEC.
You must obtain a certificate of acquittal from the CVEC before enrolling in your higher education institution.
You log in to www.CVEC.etudiant.gouv.fr after creating your account beforehand www.MesServices.etudiant.gouv.fr (the site CVEC.student.gouv.fr is accessible via MyServices.student.gouv.fr).
If you are exempt and have a conditional stock exchange notification, the site MyServices.student.gouv.fr automatically recognizes your exemption. You immediately upload your acknowledgement of acquittal.
You must present the certificate to your higher education institution at the time of registration.
If the registration process at your institution is done online, you will be asked to provide the certificate number.
If your registration procedure is physical, you must present your certificate (on smartphone or printed, depending on the establishment) at the time of registration.
If you opt out after paying the CVEC or if you interrupt your studies during the year, you will not be able to get a refund of this contribution.
You don't have it
You must pay the CVEC after you have created your account MyServices.student.gouv.fr. Then apply for a refund.
Depending on the payment method, you can download the certificate immediately (online payment) or after 2 days (cash payment). You will then have to provide the certificate to be reimbursed.
You must present the certificate to your higher education institution at the time of registration.
If the registration process at your institution is done online, you will be asked to provide the certificate number.
If your registration procedure is physical, you must present your certificate (on smartphone or printed, depending on the establishment) at the time of registration.
If you opt out after paying the CVEC or if you interrupt your studies during the year, you will not be able to get a refund of this contribution.
If you meet 1 condition that qualifies for exemption from the CVEC payment during the academic year, you will be able to obtain a refund of the CVEC. You must apply by May 31 of the current year on the site www.CVEC.etudiant.gouv.fr.

Exemption from registration fees
At your request, you can benefit from an exemption.
Exemption decisions are taken by the president of the institution, in application of criteria set by the board of establishment, up to 10% students enrolled (excluding scholarship students and wards of the Nation).
You must obtain a certificate of acquittal from the CVEC before you can enroll in your higher education institution.
If you are refugee, beneficiary of the subsidiary protection or registered as asylum-seeker and with the right to remain in the territory, you can apply for exemption online.
Application for exemption
You log in to www.CVEC.etudiant.gouv.fr after creating your account beforehand www.MesServices.etudiant.gouv.fr (the site CVEC.student.gouv.fr is accessible via MyServices.student.gouv.fr).
You certify that you are a refugee, a beneficiary of judicial protection or an asylum seeker and then download the supporting document and send your application.
After 2 working days, you get an answer. If it's positive, you're exempt. If it is negative, you will be contacted by the Crous.
Attestation
You can obtain a CVEC clearance certificate after creating your account www.CVEC.etudiant.gouv.fr.
You must present it to your higher education institution at the time of registration.
If the registration procedure at your establishment is done online, you will normally be asked to enter the attestation number.
If your registration procedure is physical, you must present your certificate (on smartphone or printed, depending on the establishment) at the time of registration.
The student social security scheme was permanently abolished on 31 August 2019.
