Health Check - Health Prevention Examination (HPR)

The Health Prevention Examination (HPE) is intended for people aged 16 years and older. It is primarily intended for those who are far from the health system. This examination lasts about 2 hours and is personalized taking into account medical follow-up. The EPS (formerly called free health check) is taken totally covered by the Health Insurance. We present you the points to know.
A Health Prevention Examination (formerly free health check) may be offered to you if you are covered by the General Health Insurance Scheme (CPAM).

The priority persons for this review are:
- Beneficiaries inactive aged 16 years and older
- Job seekers and their dependants
- Persons affiliated to personal insurance and their dependants
- Beneficiaries of a retirement or pre-retirement benefit and their dependants
- Other inactive insured persons (e.g. students and pensioners not working in addition to their studies or retirement, housewives and men, persons unable to work) and their dependants
- People exposed to health risks.
You are also a priority if you use less preventive devices (examples: cancer screening, vaccinations, examinations and care M'T Dents every year!).

However, any insured person and its beneficiaries can benefit from it.
This examination allows you to enroll or re-enroll in a health journey that articulates care with prevention and support.
The Health Prevention Review is an opportunity to:
- To take stock of your health
- Benefit from personalized advice
- To ask questions to a medical team in complete confidentiality
- To benefit from screening actions
- To be informed and referred, in conjunction with the attending physician, to the care structures.

Health Information
This review includes the following times and points:
- Information on health rights
- Care pathway
- Time spent interacting with health professionals (e.g. dentist)
- Information on various topics (examples: addictions, tobacco, overweight, obesity, physical activity)
- Support for various procedures (examples: support systems for the acquisition or renewal of a complementary health solidarity, answers to questions on the Vitale card, help in reporting your attending physician, issues related to My health space).
Examinations and screening actions
During this review, different actions can be company in particular :
- Blood sampling
- Urine analysis
- Hearing test
- Cardiopulmonary test.
Conduct of the examination
Depending on the centers where it is practiced, it can take place in 1 or 2 steps.
Examinations may vary depending on:
- Elements of the medical questionnaire you completed

A doctor sees you in consultation. They do a physical examination and give you your results and comment on them. He or she will also discuss with you the follow-up to your health prevention exam.

The results are sent to you and your attending physician if you wish and if you have one.
The examination takes place in a health examination center (HEC).

The formalities depend on the plan to which you belong:
General Scheme (CPAM)
Your health insurance fund may invite you, at its initiative, to register for a health prevention exam.
If the caisse has not sent you this invitation, you can also contact yourself to apply for it.
You will receive a summons stating:
- The date
- The place
- And the time of the exam.
Agricultural Scheme (MSA)
You can contact your caisse to apply for this exam.
Young people aged 16 to 17 may be accompanied by a legal representative (e.g. a parent).
If they wish to come alone, they come to the health examination center with the authorization document completed and signed by their legal representative. They receive this document by mail with the confirmation of their appointment.

Yes, it is necessary to come on an empty stomach, that is to say that you must not have eaten several hours before this exam. A snack will be offered on site.
