Driver's license support for apprentices is abolished

The €500 flat-rate aid for apprentices to pass the B permit is no longer available. Public Service explain.

Since 2019, adult apprentices could benefit from State aid to finance their driving license. This flat-rate aid of €500 is no longer granted. Its deletion appears in the finance law for 2026, published in the Official Journal on 20 February 2026. The measure came into force on February 21, 2026.

Please note

The aid for permit B granted by France Travail is also abolished as from April 1, 2026 in accordance with deliberation no 2025‑48 of 27 november 2025.

On the other hand, since 21 February 2026, job seekers can benefit from the financing of A1, A2, B1, B permits via their Personal Training Account (CPF).

What license aids are still in place?

However, some schemes continue to exist for young people, such as the €1 permit or local aid. The service 1young1permit allows you to identify all financial aid available.
