Airline tickets: why prices could go up from March 2025?

What is the solidarity tax on airline tickets (TSBA)?

The solidarity tax on airline tickets (TSBA), also known as the Chirac tax, is an international tax levied on the price of airline tickets. The 2025 budget law has just been adopted and with it an increase in the TSBA scale from 1er March 2025.

What increases will apply?

The new increases planned for article 30 of the 2025 budget are:

Economy Class Ticket

Ticket with additional services (business class)

Business aircraft

Destinations in France or Europe

€210 or €420 depending on the type of aircraft

Intermediate destinations

€15

€80

EUR 675 or EUR 1 015 depending on the type of aircraft

Far-away destinations

€40

€120

1 025 or 2 100 euro depending on the type of aircraft

According to the airlines' policy, the fares of flights will not necessarily increase: these increases could be absorbed without repercussions on the price of airline tickets.
