College Scholarship: What you need to know for the 2025-2026 school year

The college scholarship is awarded for a school year to families whose income does not exceed a certain ceiling; the ceiling varies according to the number of dependent children.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the level of your resources and the number of children you have to be justified by your notice of taxation (or non-taxation) 2025 on your 2024 revenues.

If your financial resources are modest, you canYou may also be eligible for other tuition support such as back-to-school allowance (RSA) or the college social fund.

Payment amounts and dates in 2025-26

For the 2025-2026 school year, the annual amount of support is:

• €120 for step 1;
• €330 for step 2;
• €516 for step 3.

The payment is made in 3 installments, in each quarter of the school year: usually end of December, end of March and end of June.

You can use the stock exchange simulator proposed by the Ministry of National Education. It allows you to know if your household can benefit from a scholarship during the 2025-2026 school year, and to estimate its amount.

2025-2026 Campaign Schedule

The 2025-2026 College Scholarship Campaign starts on the day of the school year. She ends on 16 october 2025, whether your child is attending a public school, a private school or the Center national d'éducation à distance (Cned), and whether the application is made online or in paper form.

How to apply for a scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year?

Your child is attending a public school

You can consent to automatic study your right to a scholarship at the time of your child’s enrollment or re-enrollment in the college for the 2025-2026 school year. This agreement is equivalent to a scholarship application.

For the automatic study of the right to the scholarship, you are asked to fill in your civil status data (surname and forenames, date and place of birth) as well as those of your potential partner. This allows you to retrieve the tax data needed to review your scholarship application. You are so exempt from applying for a scholarship in the 2025 school year, and in subsequent school years by retaining your consent. If you have given your consent during the 2024 school year, you do not have to take any steps; your grant entitlement is automatically studied during the 2025 school year.

If you do not consent to this arrangement, you can apply for a scholarship during the 2025-2026 campaign:

• or by using the online service Online service Scholarships (for all public colleges of all academies, access is made by connecting to the Scolarity-Services portal via an EduConnect account or with FranceConnect ;
• or by using the college scholarship application form.

Your child is attending private school

Your request can only be made using application form for a national college scholarship for the 2025-2026 school year. Once completed, the form must be sent or deposited with the secretariat of your child's college with the required supporting documents.

Your child is attending the National Center for Distance Learning (Cned)

Your scholarship application must also be done using the form. This must be sent, together with supporting documents, to the academic department of the Cned national scholarships (at Rouen Academy Scholarship Service, which is located in the Eure, if your child is enrolled in general education class; and Toulouse Academy Scholarship Service, which is located in Ariège, if your child is registered in adapted general and vocational education class - Segpa).
