Has your family situation changed (marriage, Civil partnership, separation or divorce, death, birth)? You have to report it to the tax department. Any change in family status changes your tax return. It also affects your withholding tax rate. We'll tell you what you need to know.

You must report this to your tax department in the 60 days that follow your marriage or Civil partnership.

The process is done on the Internet.

You must report the change by logging into your site space impots.gouv.fr, under Manage my direct debit.

Taxes: access your Special Space

Specify the following information :

  • Date of marriage or Civil partnership
  • Contact details of your spouse or partner (surname, first name, date of birth and tax number)
  • Bank details for your new tax home
  • Income from the new home.

This information makes it possible to determine your new pick rate.

The new rate will be sent to your employer or the organization that pays you income.

It will apply no later than 2 months after the date of transmission.

You need to send a mail to your tax department, in 60 days that follow your marriage or Civil partnership.
