Internship in a company in Europe

Are you a student, apprentice or jobseeker and want to do an internship in a company or training institution in Europe? The programs Erasmus + and Eurodyssey offer you this possibility. Various aids to finance your internship period are offered. We present you the information to know.
The rules differ depending on whether you are a student, apprentice or jobseeker.
Student
If you are a student, you can do an internship in Europe with the program Erasmus + higher education.
You can go on an Erasmus + higher education internship from your 1re year of study and up to and including doctorate.
To do this, you must be enrolled in a higher education institution that has a Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
Your internship must be in relation to the diploma prepared.
You can also benefit from the program within one year of graduation.
You can go on an internship Erasmus + between 2 and 12 months.
You can benefit of an internship Erasmus + by course of study (Bachelor, Master, PhD).
You can go to a country of the European Economic Area (EEA), in Turkey, Macedonia and Serbia.

During studies
Your internship period abroad is supervised by your educational institution and your host company. You have to spend with her a internship agreement.

After graduation
Your internship must take place within one year of graduation.
You must submit your application while you are still registered in your higher education institution. For this, contact the international relations department or the office Erasmus from your educational institution.

You can get an internship scholarship Erasmus + to finance your travel and subsistence expenses. This scholarship is cumulative with the scholarship on social criteria. Its amount varies according to the duration and location of the internship.

Apprentice
If you are an apprentice in secondary or higher education, you can do an internship in a company in Europe with the program Erasmus + vocational training.
You must be an apprentice in secondary or higher education to benefit from the program.
You can go on an Erasmus + internship between 2 and 12 months.
You can go to a country of the European Economic Area (EEA), in Turkey, Macedonia and Serbia.
Your internship period abroad is supervised by your educational institution and your host company. You have to spend with her a internship agreement.
During your internship, you remain an employee of your french company. Your salary is maintained. So you have to get theagreement of your french employer to go on an internship.

Jobseeker
If you are a jobseeker, you can do an internship in a company in Europe with the program Erasmus +.
You can benefit from the program if you meet all the conditions following:
- You are a jobseeker at least 18 years of age
- You reside in France
- You are a national of the European Economic Area (EEA), Turkey or Macedonia. If this is not the case, you must have the right to work in the country of destination at the time of application.
- You must practice the language of the destination country (or English for English-speaking internships) at a level sufficient to complete a professional internship (minimum A2).
Please note
You can perform only one internship under this program.
You can do your internship in an organization (company, association, training organization, etc.) located in the European Economic Area (EEA), in Turkey or Macedonia.
To learn more about the facilities participating in the program, contact your France Travail advisor (formerly Pôle emploi).
Talk to your France Travail advisor. He will help you define your project and will tell you the steps to take to submit your application.
The program is funded by the European Commission and France Travail. It shall bear the following costs:
- Return transport tickets (home - destination city)
- Accommodation in a single room: roommate or host family according to availability. Accommodation must be provided by the local partner
- Civil liability insurance and repatriation insurance during your mobility
- Organization and monitoring of your mobility.
The daily living costs on site (food, telephone, personal expenses, public transport) and the possible deposit for the accommodation are at your expense.
The internship lasts between 3 and 6 months.
You are accompanied by a France Travail advisor during the internship period and upon your return.
