Energy renovation: can the eco-PTZ be combined with MaPrimeRénov' (MPR)?

Yes, you can accumulate the eco-PTZ and MaPrimeRénov' (MPR), but only for finance the remainder of the energy renovation work eligible for MPR aid. We present you the information to know.

The work must be carried out in a dwelling for use by primary residence.

The cumulation is addressed to owner-occupiers and to landlord owners.

In case of rental, the accommodation must be rented in the 6 months following the completion of the work.

The eco-PTZ shall be granted unconditionally of resources and without seniority requirement housing.

The eco-PTZ is offered by credit institutions, financing businesses and third-party financing businesses that have signed a convention with the state.

To apply for the eco-PTZ, you must choose an establishment or business mentioned in a official list.

You must then forward the business to the institution decision to grant the aid MPR which has been issued to you by the National Housing Agency (Anah).

The granting decision shall not not older than 6 months before the eco-PTZ was issued.

Who shall I contact

The amount of the eco-PTZ paid in addition to the MPR aid cannot exceed the difference between:

  • The amount including all charges (including VAT) of the works eligible for MPR aid,
  • And the sum of the amount of the MPR aid actually paid, less any other cumulated aid (e.g. energy saving certificates).

This amount is calculated by the Anah.

The eco-PTZ granted corresponds to remains to be paid displayed on the notification of grant of the MPR aid, up to €50,000.

The deadline for repaying the eco-PTZ is 20 years.

This period may be shorter if you request it from the establishment or business that finances your eco-PTZ.

Please note

As long as the eco-PTZ is not fully reimbursed, the accommodation cannot be converted into commercial or professional premises or put into seasonal rental or used as a secondary residence. Failure to comply shall result in the repayment of the outstanding capital.

You must justify that your work has actually been carried out, in accordance with the description and the estimate, within 3 years of the allocation of the eco-PTZ.

To do this, you must send the notification of the payment of MaPrimeRénov' sent by the Anah to the establishment or business that finances your eco-PTZ.

If you do not justify within 3 years that the work has actually been carried out, you will have to reimburse the eco-PTZ.

The time limit of 3 years does not have to be respected in any of the following cases:

  • Death of the borrower
  • Health accident resulting in a temporary interruption of work of at least 3 months
  • Recognition of natural or technological disaster
  • Force majeure
  • Contentious challenge of the operation.
