What is a Work Placement Period (PMSMP)?

The professional simulation period (PMSMP) allows you to test your choice of orientation to discover a profession or a sector of activity. It is possible to apply for a PMSMP regardless of whether you are active or not and regardless of your age. We take stock of the regulations to know.
In operation
You can benefit from a PMSMP if you are in activity and are engaged in an integration or professional reintegration process.
It is in particular if you are an employee:
- In search of a professional reorientation (example: in the context of a consulting in professional development)
- Accompanied by the structures of theintegration through economic activity (IAE)
- Threatened with incapacity as part of a process of retention or retraining
- Engaged in an active job search process, registered as such with France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi), particularly in anticipation of economic difficulties
- In job path skills, prescribed as part of the Single insertion contract (CUI).

You can also benefit from a PMSMP if you are disabled worker accommodated in institutions and work support services or employee of adapted companies.
The PMSMP aims to:
- Discover a profession or an industry
- Confirm a business project
- Initiate a recruitment process.
The structures that can prescribe a PMSMP are:
- France Labor
- Local Mission, if you are under 26 years old
- Employment Cap, if you have a disability
- Departmental Council
- Integration structures through economic activity (SIAE): integration companies (EI), intermediate associations (AI), integration workshops (ACI).
FYI
An actor of social or professional integration can also prescribe PMSMPs for the public he employs or accompanies. For this, he must have received a delegation from France Travail, local missions or Employment Cap.

Temporary integration work companies (ETTI) cannot prescribing PMSMP.
You must contact the organization responsible for your support (example: France Travail) which can prescribe a PMSMP.
The conditions for implementing PMSMPs are adaptable to each beneficiary.
The prescriber considers the advisability. It defines the objectives according to your needs, possibilities and capacities as well as those of the host structure.

The convention states in particular the following points:
- Name and address of the prescribing body
- Your surname, first name and date of birth
- Contact details of the employer
- Name of the reception and support structure
- Start and end dates of the scenario period(s)
- Number of hours of attendance and place of performance
- Objectives set and procedures for assessing their achievement
- Description of the tasks entrusted to you to develop the skills sought
- Hours of presence in the reception structure.
The PMSMP is the subject of an agreement between the following parties:
- You
- Reception structure
- Prescriber
- Support structure (if different from the prescriber)
- Employer.
Initial Duration
The duration of each PMSMP is 1 month maximum (from date to date).
Your presence within the reception structure can be continuous or discontinuous.
You can enter into up to 2 agreements with the same employer.
For this, these conventions must:
- Have different objects or objectives
- Have a total duration maximum of 60 days in this 12-month period (one year).
FYI
The cumulative duration of all these PMSMP performed by an employee in Single insertion contract (CUI) or accompanied by a structure ofintegration through economic activity must be equal to a maximum of 25% the total duration of the contract.
Renewal
Where the PMSMP objective(s) have not been achieved, the Convention shall can be renewed once.
This renewal has the same purpose and objectives as those initially set. It has a maximum duration of1 month.
Your status and remuneration are maintained.
Your remuneration is paid by your employer of origin if the period falls within the scope of the employment contract you have concluded with him.
FYI
The reception center may pay you a gratuity, but it is not obliged to do so.
You follow the rules applicable to other employees of the structure (examples: length of stay, rest, night presence).
Warning
If during the PMSMP you request a suspension of your employment contract, your remuneration will also be suspended.
You find your initial workstation again.
Without activity
You can benefit from a PMSMP if you are in one of the following situations :
- Jobseeker, registered or not with France Travail
- Young people seeking integration followed by local missions
- Jobseeker recognized as a disabled worker, accompanied by France Travail or a Employment Cap
- Beneficiary of RSA: titleContent, for actions implemented under your contract of employment.

You keep your compensation plan.
Thus, if you are a jobseeker receiving compensation from France Travail, you keep your unemployment insurance benefits.
If you perceive the RSA: titleContent, you continue to receive the allowance.

You are not the employee of the reception facility and you're not paid by her. However, this reception structure may pay you a gratuity, but it is not obliged to do so.
You follow the rules applicable to other employees of the structure (examples: length of stay, rest, night presence).
The PMSMP can lead to a work opportunity.
