What are the rights and obligations of the high school student?

If you're a high school student, you have rights which you can exercise alone or together (freedom of assembly, freedom of association, freedom of publication). You also have obligations to be respected. These rights and obligations prepare you for your responsibilities as a citizen. The specifies how they are applied in your school. Here is the information you need to know.

Your individual rights are as follows:

  • Right to be protected from physical or psychological violence
  • Right to respect for work and property
  • Freedom of conscience, information and expression.

You must exercise these rights with tolerance and respect for other students and adults. The defamatory or offensive language are prohibited.

If you are major, you can do the following paperwork alone:

  • Registering at an institution (or canceling a registration)
  • Choose your orientation
  • Appeal a decision of the class council
  • Apply for a scholarship
  • Sign your institution's
  • Justify your absences
  • Receive academic correspondence (transcripts or summonses for example). To do this, you must apply to your institution.

Freedom of assembly

This right is exercised in every high school.

You cannot request a meeting on your own. You can get together with other students to do this, through your delegates or through a high school association.

The delegates high school students or an association of high school students then ask for permission to organize a meeting outside hours of instruction at the head of the school. In particular, they must specify the purpose of the meeting.

The head of the establishment may object, in particular if the meeting is likely to disrupt the normal functioning of the establishment. He may also decide to accept the organization of the meeting. In this case, it can provide you with a place to welcome you.

Creating an association

You can create an association in your high school if you are of full age.

The statutes of this association must be deposited with the head of establishment and validated by the board of directors.

The association can be domiciled in the establishment.

House of high school students

It is an association that replaces the socio-educational home. All high school students can join.

Its direction (presidency, secretariat, treasury) is ensured by high school students who have at least 16 years.

Freedom of publication

You can write a publication and distribute it freely in your high school.

However, this publication must not infringe the rights of another person. Nor should it be contrary to public order, be abusive or defamatory.

Otherwise, you are in infringement and you can be punished. The head of the establishment may also suspend or prohibit the distribution of this publication.

The head of the school provides student delegates and the council of delegates for high school life with billboards (and if possible a local).

The ₪ has rules that you must follow in the classroom, in the institution and around it.

In particular, you must comply with the following tuition rules:

  • Respect the authority of teachers
  • Respect the schedules of courses and activities
  • Show up with your correspondence book and the necessary equipment

  • Entering high school with proper dress
  • Adopt correct language
  • Behave respectfully towards adults and other students inside or outside the school, including through the use of the internet
  • Respect and defend equality between girls and boys.

You are also prohibited from engaging in violent behavior, and from participating in a game that is dangerous or humiliating to another student.

You must also respect the equipment of the establishment and keep the premises clean.

Concerning the use of the mobile phone, , , , shall specify whether it is permitted, limited or prohibited. If the provision provides for a limitation or prohibition, the penalty for use is also provided for in the provision.

Reminder

He is no smoking or vaping in schools. The use of alcohol and drugs is also prohibited.
