Who can attend the meetings of the union council of a condominium?

Verified 25 September 2026 - Public Service / (Prime Minister)

In principle, only members of the union council attend meetings.

The president of the trade union council may, however, authorize certain persons to attend a meeting as guests. These may include:

  • Alternate members, if they have been appointed at the general meeting of co-owners
  • From an external stakeholder (e.g. technician, prime contractor, contractor, accountant, lawyer or notary) to obtain technical advice (consultation or expertise on a subject)
  • From trustee of the condominium. In particular, it is recommended that he attend the meetings of the trade union council which deal with the preparation of the agenda of the general assembly, the advisability of certain works or to examine the proposals of technicians (lawyers, architects, etc.).
  • A co-owner if his opinion or skills are necessary on a specific subject.

The president of the union council then organizes the summons and the presence of punctual guests according to the agenda.

Please note

The condominium rules may, however, lay down different rules.
