A temporary increase in mileage allowances for public officials

A decree of 29 May 2026 temporarily increases the rates of kilometer allowances applicable to temporary travel of State personnel, carried out between 1^er June and December 31, 2026.

The surcharge shall be 3.2%, i.e. aid of approximately EUR 0,20 per liter of fuel.

This measure aims to increase compensation for officers who use their personal vehicle in the course of their service, the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts said. AESH (accompanying students with disabilities) and substitute teachers are particularly beneficiaries. Hospital staff are also concerned (an order must be issued concerning them).

This provision comes at a time when various aid measures have been put in place by the government to the workers « big rollers » and for the companies.

The increased rates shall be determined according to the place where the journey takes place, the kilometers traveled, the type and power of the vehicle.
