Esta fare increase to go to the United States

Are you going to the United States for a short stay? In this case you do not need a visa but you need to buy the Esta, an electronic travel authorization. Its price has increased since September 30. Public Service tell you more.

L'Esta (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is a travel authorization for a short stay (less than 90 days) in the United States, without having to apply for a visa. It applies to countries that are part of the Visa Waiver Program.

This document is mandatory for all European nationals, whether they are traveling for leisure or business.

Since September 30, 2025, the price of the Esta has passed $21 to $40. This increase was included in the US law of 4 July 2025 entitled One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Please note

The Esta has a validity period of 2 years. If your passport expires before these 2 years, you will have to redo your Esta at the same time as your passport.
