Aids for holidays
How to use your holiday vouchers?
Publié le 10 juin 2025 - Mise à jour le 23 juillet 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
Train ride, hotel night, camping stay, entrance to leisure park or museums... As the summer season approaches, holiday vouchers allow you to pay for many services. You can also transform your checks from paper to digital at any time (and vice versa).
The holiday voucher is a device of the National Association of Holiday Vouchers (ANCV) for social purposes. It allows private sector employees and civil servants to pay for part of their holidays or leisure activities throughout the year from service providers or online booking sites contracted by the ANCV. It can be used in France or within the European Union.
The holiday voucher is valid for 2 years, in addition to the year of issue.
Checks issued in 2024 are valid until December 31, 2026.
The holiday voucher can be in the form of:
- a check book in denominations of €10, €20, €25 and €50 (Classic holiday voucher);
- or in a dematerialized version for online use only (Connect holiday voucher).
You can exchange the Classic format for a Connect format or vice versa.
Warning
Since 1er In January 2025, SNCF no longer accepts paper holiday vouchers. However, dematerialized checks continue to be supported.
FYI
At the end of validity, it is possible to exchange your holiday vouchers until 31 March of the year following their expiry for the same amount, excluding processing and shipping costs (provided that the amount of checks exceeds 30 €).
For example, if you have a security issued in 2023, it is valid until December 31, 2025 but you can exchange it until March 31, 2026.
Please note
The Family Allowance Funds also offer recipients, subject to means testing, a holiday voucher scheme. The amount varies according to the number of dependent children and the participation of the Caf depends on the family quotient. You can inquire at your local Caf.
Who can benefit from it?
All companies can offer holiday vouchers but the device is not mandatory for the employer, and the employee may also choose to acquire them or not.
Holiday vouchers are paid partly by the employer and partly by the employee. The employer's contribution can be made either by direct participation or by a grant to the Social and Economic Committee (CSE).
Your participation in holiday vouchers depends on the company in which you work. If you are employed in the private sector, it will depend on your income and the number of dependent children. If you are a public official, your status and gross remuneration are taken into account.
To apply:
- if you are a private employee : you can contact the human resources department of the company for which you work, your social and economic committee or your employer.
- if you are a public official : you can apply online by creating an account or apply on a paper form. You can also contact your human resources department.
