A boost from the Caf to finance your Bafa

Do you want to work with children and teenagers and run holiday camps? The Bafa is for you! It is accessible from the age of 16 and the Family Allowance Fund helps you finance it. Public Service gives you all the information.

The Bafa and the BAFD are essential for working in a leisure center or a summer camp.

The training takes place in 3 stages:

  • one general training 8 days;
  • one practical training 14 days;
  • one deepening 6 days or one qualification 8 days.

These steps can be done in boarding school (with accommodation) or half board (without accommodation, with lunch).

Reminder

To become a facilitator, you can register for training at Bafa from the age of 15 years and 6 months and be at least 16 years old on the first day of the general training session.

Subscribe to Bafa

To register, go to the website dedicated to Bafa/BAFD. If you are under the age of 18, you must provide parental permission. Different training organizations are offered.

Financing your Bafa

Bafa training is paid for and can be expensive. The cost is not fixed, it varies from organization to organization. The budget ranges from €700 to €1,000 for the full training.

What help from the Caf?

The Family Allowance Fund (Caf) proposes aid for €200 to finance the Bafa, without conditions of resources. To be eligible for this assistance, you must have followed the last deepening or qualification session. Click on the Bafa tab: Request Training Assistance/Make the Request. The request may be made within a period of 3 months following the end of your course.

Additional aid is offered by the CfS at the local level but also at the territorial level: departmental or regional councils, town halls, company committees, associations, organizers of colonies and leisure centers. Ask your Caf! Young people who are accompanied in their formalities and advised by a training organization will not have to advance the costs.
