Students: how to apply for the Crous meal at 1 €?

Publié le 12 septembre 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

In the university restaurants run by the Crous, meals are €1 for scholarship students, but also for non-scholarship holders in precarious situations. For the latter, it is now possible to apply to the Crous network to benefit from this preferential rate during the academic year 2025-2026.

If you are a non-scholarship student, to be able to benefit from meals at 1 € in university restaurants, you must:

  • go to the site epa.lescrous.fr and click on “Apply”;
  • log in to your MyServices account with your login details (this is the platform used for Parcoursup);
  • you are then asked for various personal information and proof of financial situation: resources (salaries, housing assistance, alimony, etc.) and expenses (rent, transport subscription, loan to repay, etc.).

The social service of the Crous network then takes care of studying your file. You have until December 16, 2025 of the academic year to apply. Beyond this date, it will be necessary to make an appointment with the social service of your Crous of attachment so that your situation is examined. If you are having trouble applying online, you can contact the Crous via the form available on messervices.student.gouv.fr.

FYI

To find the university restaurant closest to your place of study, visit the map of restaurants Crous.

How can you benefit from it if you are a scholarship holder?

If you are a scholarship holder:

  • bring your scholarship notification (provisional or definitive) received by email;
  • create an account Izly ;
  • you can then pay for your meal with your phone via the Izly application or using your rechargeable student card.

If you already have an Izly account, no action is required: the status of scholarship student is automatically taken into account on the Izly account upon receipt of the final scholarship award notification.

Social or very social pricing

During the 2025-2026 academic year, restaurant rates will be the same as last year. Les Crous offer a catering offer at two rates:

  • so-called “social” pricing at €3.30;
  • a so-called “very social” pricing at €1 for precarious scholarship or non-scholarship students.

For these rates, students can have a “6-point menu” in university restaurants. It is a complete meal with an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. Several choices are offered, with a vegetarian option.

In cafeterias, a “premium” formula at €2.80 is also offered to scholarship students or students in precarious situations, and at €5.10 for other students.

FYI

Since February 2025, a student catering assistance card is awarded to scholarship students as non-scholarship holders whose place of study is located more than 20 minutes from a Crous or contracted university restaurant (RU). This prepaid card allows you to benefit from monthly financial assistance to eat at a moderate rate. Students do not have to take any steps: the beneficiaries are automatically identified by the rectorates.
