The solidarity income (RSO), an allowance intended for people residing in Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Reunion and the communities of Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, is reassessed every year. A decree of August 4, 2025 indicates the amount of its revaluation. Service-Public.fr reminds you of the conditions to benefit and the terms of its payment.

The decree of 4 August 2025 carries out the annual revaluation of the solidarity income (RSO).

The monthly amount of solidarity income (RSO) is increased to 608.91 € (previously €598.73).

Please note

The revaluation applies from the allowances due for the month of April 2025.

What is Solidarity Income (SAR)?

Solidarity income is a social benefit introduced in 2001 and specific to the overseas departments and local authorities (except Mayotte). This financial assistance is intended for unemployed seniors who have not yet reached retirement age and who commit to leaving the labor market permanently.

The conditions for receiving solidarity income are as follows:

  • have benefited from the minimum income for integration or the active solidarity income on a continuous basis for at least 2 years without having exercised any professional activity.
    receive the active solidarity income (RSA) for at least two years without having exercised a professional activity;
  • live in the following overseas territory or community: Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Reunion, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon;
  • be at least 55 years of age and less than 65 years of age;
  • not to receive at least one of these other aids: the Disabled Adult Allowance (AAH), the Allowance for Old or Self-Employed Workers, the Special Allowance, the Supplementary Allowance of the Solidarity Fund for Old Age or Invalidity, the Allowance for Mothers of Families, the Invalidity Pension of 2e or 3e category, the full retirement pension.

The amount of solidarity income

It varies according to resources and family situation and can only be paid once per family.

Household income (calculated over 2024, divided by 12) must not exceed:

  • €1,002.40 if you live alone;
  • €1,575.20 if you live as a couple.

If your resources exceed the set ceiling, solidarity income is the difference between the ceiling and the monthly amount of your resources. The maximum amount that can be allocated is €608.91.

If you are eligible for solidarity income, simply apply to your Family Allowance Fund local, in the overseas department or community where you reside. You can perform your online request via your personal area caf.fr. Documents such as: proof of identity and residence; statements of household resources (year 2024); RSA receipt certificate; declaration on the honor of cessation of activity will be to be provided.

Once your application is accepted, the payment of the solidarity income begins the following month.

Reminder

You can benefit from the solidarity income until retirement if you are between 55 and 65 years old. The payment of the allowance terminates your entitlement to the RSA.

Example :

Is a single person with €6,000 in income in 2024 eligible for the Overseas Solidarity Income (OSR)? With a monthly average of €500, she will be able to benefit from it with a differential amount: €1,002.40 - €500 = €502.40 monthly SAR.
