Unemployment insurance benefits: what increase on 1 July?

Unédic’s board of directors, composed of representatives of employees and employers, voted on June 25, 2025, to increase unemployment insurance benefits by 0.5%, effective June 1^er July 2025. This decision takes into account the economic context and the financial balance of the unemployment insurance scheme.

In 2024, unemployment insurance was upgraded by 1.2% on 1^er July.

New amounts as of July 1, 2025

As stated in the decree of 26 July 2019 on the unemployment insurance scheme, the Board of Directors of Unédic may increase part or all of the unemployment benefits.

An increase in the daily reference wage (SJR) of 0,5 % and the following developments on 1^er july 2025 were decided:

• Minimum Allowance for Return to Employment Assistance (RWA): from €31.97 to €32.13 per day. In Mayotte, it is raised to €16.05 per day instead of €15.97.
• Fixed part of the ARE: it goes from €13.11 to €13.18 per day compensated.
• End-of-right aid: from €353.97 to €355.86 (27 times the fixed part).
• Floor allowance for assistance in returning to employment training (AREF): from €22.88 to €22.99 per day. In Mayotte, it is raised to €11.51 per day instead of €11.45.
• Floor relating to the application of the degressivity coefficient: the amount of the daily allowance relating to the application of the degressivity coefficient increases from €92.11 to €92.57.

The revaluation of the reference daily wage shall apply only if all the remuneration of which it is composed are at least 6 months old.

When will the new allowance be in place?

Starting on 1^er in july 2025, recipients receive a transfer of the amount reassessed by the organization to their bank account. No action is required to benefit from this increase, it is done automatically as soon as you update your file every month.
