Property tax 2025: what is the deadline to pay?

Publié le 25 septembre 2025 - Directorate of Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

If you own or are a usufructuary of an apartment or house (even if the unit is rented to a tenant), you must pay the property tax on built properties (TFPB). Service-Public.fr reminds you of the 2025 property tax payment deadlines.

Add to my calendar

If you are not monthly, your property tax notice is available since August 28, 2025 on taxes.gouv.fr in your particular space, under ‘My events’/‘Documents’.

If you are monthly, your review will be available online from September 20.

If you prefer to receive it in paper format, it will be sent to you by post between August 25 and September 19, 2025 if you are not monthly or between September 22 and October 8, 2025 if you are monthly.

The date of payment of the property tax depends on your method of payment.

Deadline for payment in case of online payment

In 2025, the deadline for payment of the property tax is October 20 if you pay online via the website impots.gouv.fr, or from your smartphone or tablet via the application Impots.gouv (downloadable for free on Google Play or App Store).

Please note

If this is your first online payment, it is necessary to bring your tax notice and your bank references.

Payment deadline for other payment methods

For amounts less than or equal to 300 €, you can pay until 15 october 2025 midnight :

  • by transfer : to make your transfer, you must contact the tax department you depend on to obtain its bank references. His contact details are on your tax notice in the "Your steps" box;

Warning

Provision must be made for the time taken by the bank to process the transfer; the date on which the payment is authentic is that of the interbank settlement.

  • cash or credit card : you must surrender, with your tax notice, at one of the partner tobacconists the ‘proximity payment’;
  • by check : you must make it payable to the Treasury and send it to the collection center with the SEPA TIP included in your notice (to serve as a reference for your payment) without signing, pasting or stapling it;
  • by interbank payment document (if a SEPA TIP is printed in your review): if you have already used this payment method, your bank details are already pre-printed. Date the SEPA TIP, sign it and send it back to the collection center whose address appears on the document. If this is the first time you have paid by SEPA TIP or changed your bank details, you must attach a bank identity statement (RIB) and send it back to the collection center whose address appears on the SEPA TIP.

Warning

Amounts over €300 must be paid by monthly or on-maturity charge or by direct online payment on the site “impots.gouv.fr”.
