Motorways: the new breakdown rates

Do you know that in the event of an emergency call on the motorway, only professionals approved by the public authorities can help you? The rates for their interventions are set by decree, the latest decree having just been published in Official Journal of 26 December 2025.

In case of on-site troubleshooting (including a return trip of the professional and a repair of up to 30 minutes), the package amounts to €151.00.

For troubleshooting requiring towing (on a rest or service area, up to the convenience store workshop or at a location chosen by the motorist), the new rates, which vary according to the weight of the vehicle, are as follows:

  • €151.00 for vehicles weighing less than or equal to 1,8 tons;
  • €186.72 for vehicles with a total weight of more than 1,8 tons and less than 3,5 tons.

Please note

These prices are increased by 50% if the emergency call was made between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. or on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
