Discover the 2026 list of beaches and marinas labeled Blue Flag!

384 beaches, 100 marinas and 1 boat are allowed to fly this summer the Blue Flag flag, as a reward for their environmental commitment. The list of the 485 sites labeled, all over France, was published in May on the Blue Flag website. For holidaymakers in particular, this label is a means of identifying places where a tourism policy is implemented that respects the environment and the health of human beings.

The beaches awarded the Blue Flag label in 2026 are located in 182 municipalities located on the seafront but also on the banks of lakes and rivers.

The Occitanie and Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions together account for 232 sites, which represents nearly half of the total number of beaches and ports labeled in France. Like last year, Occitanie tops the list with 102 beaches and 18 ports, or 120 sites. With 112 winners, the South region follows closely in the ranking: 85 beaches and 27 ports will be able to raise the blue flag this summer. In 3rd place, Nouvelle-Aquitaine has 52 labeled sites: 48 beaches and 4 ports and 1 boat.

In total, 384 beaches, 100 marinas and 1 boat have received the Blue Flag label in 2026. These coastal and continental sites are distinguished for having worked at the scale of their territory in favor of tourism more respectful of the environment, ecosystems and the health of human beings.

2026 is also marked by the arrival of nine new sites labeled : the ports of Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune, Nevers, Charleville-Mézières, Buzet-sur-Baïse, the Old Port of Golfe Juan and Jacques Yves Cousteau in Castelsarrasin, as well as beaches in the municipalities of Tréport, Carqueiranne and Saint-Symphorien-de-Thénières.

Please note

Since 2024, of boats can obtain the Blue Flag label; it is intended for boats in a fleet managed by a company offering tourist excursion and naturalist observation activities.

To obtain the label, a structure must meet various criteria related to water and sanitation, waste management, responsible practices for wildlife.

Labeled Blue Flag since 2024, the catamaran Atalaya d'Explore Océan, based in the port of Hendaye, offers sea trips dedicated to cetacean observation.

What are the criteria?

Obtaining the label is subject to various criteria belonging to the following 9 themes:

  • water and sanitation;
  • biodiversity and natural environment management;
  • security;
  • waste management;
  • training/education for sustainable development;
  • equipment and services;
  • accessibility;
  • information to users;
  • sobriety.

Please note

Once labeled, each winner agrees to respect the terms and conditions of use of the label. Monitoring visits are carried out during the tourist season to ensure that the criteria are met.

Blue Flag is an annual label. It is awarded only for the current year. No municipality or port can claim the Blue Flag if it is not a winner of the year.
