Your child is enrolled in high school and you wonder if you are entitled to the high school scholarship? To benefit from this, your annual resources must not exceed ceilings, depending on the number of children you have to support. The amount of the high school scholarship varies according to your resources and expenses. We present you the information to know.

Conditions related to schooling
Your child must be enrolled and take training in a public high school, a private high school under contract or a high school entitled to receive scholarship students.
They must follow one of the following courses:
- 2nde, 1re or terminal (leading to a bac or a technician's certificate)
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CAP)
- Patent for crafts
- Secondary school-level class in high school
- Class of 3rd "prep-trades"
- Level 3 or 4 Specialization Certificate
- Complementary training level 3 or 4.
Your child can also be enrolled in the National Center for Distance Learning (Cned).
You must reside in France.
Resource Conditions
The resources taken into account for the 2026-2027 school year correspond to reference tax income from the 2026 income tax notice for the year 2025.

The scholarship includes 6 steps, which take into account the number of dependent children making up your home and the resources of this home not to be exceeded.

If you lose the care of the child during the year, the payment of the scholarship is withdrawn. The right to the grant of the new person responsible for the child is then examined.

For the 2026-2027 school year, the high school scholarship includes 6 steps depending on your situation.
It is paid in 3 times, at the end of each quarter.

Please note
If you are between 16 and 18 years old, have dropped out of your training and wish to resume professional studies, you will be able to benefit from a scholarship supplement under certain conditions. Check with your institution's secretariat to see if you are eligible.

Pupil enrolled in the public sector
You must apply if you are in one of the following situations:
- Your child is enrolled in class of 3e and will enter high school next fall
- Your child is already a high school student and qualifies for a scholarship at the next school year.
For the 2026-2027 school year, at the time of enrollment or re-enrollment of your child in high school, you can give your agreement for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement. This agreement is worth scholarship application. It is kept for the duration of your child's schooling in high school. You won't no further steps to take so that your scholarship entitlement is studied at each start of school.
If you do not want to give your consent for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement, you must apply for a scholarship online or via a paper form between 1er September and October 15, 2026.
You must make a request high school scholarship even if you are a beneficiary in 2025-26.
You agree to the automatic study of scholarship law
When your child enrolls or re-enrolls in high school, you give your agreement for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement. This agreement is worth a scholarship application.
Your consent is collected via the registration online service or via the paper registration form provided by the institution.
You provide information your civil status data (first and last names, date and place of birth), and those of your possible partner. This allows the recovery of the tax data necessary for the examination of the scholarship application.
You do not give your consent for the automatic study of scholarship law
You can make your request online between 1er September and October 15, 2026.

Application for National High School Scholarship - Year 2026-2027

Student enrolled in a private contract school
For the 2026-2027 school year, school leaders private high schools under contract may propose the automatic study of scholarship law. At the time of enrollment or re-enrollment of your child in high school, you can give your agreement for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement. This agreement is worth scholarship application. It is kept for the duration of your child's schooling in high school. You won't no further steps to take so that your scholarship entitlement is studied at each start of school.
If this possibility is not offered by the school or if you do not want to give your consent for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement, you must apply for a scholarship by completing a paper form. This request must be made between 1er September and October 15, 2026.
You agree to the automatic study of scholarship law
When your child enrolls or re-enrolls in college, you give your agreement for the automatic study of your scholarship entitlement. This agreement is worth a scholarship application.
Your consent is collected via the registration online service or via the paper registration form provided by the institution.
You provide information your civil status data (first and last names, date and place of birth), and your partner's, if you live in a common-law relationship. This allows the recovery of the tax data necessary for the examination of the scholarship application.
You get an answer in the first trimester of the school year. If further information is required, you will be contacted by the department responsible for reviewing scholarship applications.
You do not give your consent for the automatic study of scholarship law
You must complete your application using a form and submit it to the secretariat of the institution where your child is registered.
You can do this paper application between 1er September and October 15, 2026.
Application for National High School Scholarship - Year 2026-2027

Student enrolled at the National Center for Distance Education (Cned)
You must fill out a form to apply for the scholarship:

If your child is enrolled in the Cned general and technological high schoolHowever, you must send this form to the national scholarships department of the Rennes academy, which is located in Finistère.
If your child is enrolled in the Cned vocational high school, you must send this form to the national scholarships department of the Lyon academy.

Student candidate to join a military high school
The lycées concerned are:
- Lycée militaire de Saint-Cyr-l'École
- Military High School of Aix-en-Provence
- Autun Military High School
- National military prytanea of La Flèche
- Brest Naval High School
- Grenoble Air Pupils School.
You need to get closer to the military high school where you are applying to know the scholarship application procedure.
Warning
An adult or emancipated pupil may apply for a scholarship if he is not attached to his parents' tax home.
If your scholarship application has been refused, you have 15 clear days after notification of refusal to appeal.
Your appeal must be addressed to the Rectorate of the Academy or to the Department of National Education (Dsden). It depends on where the scholarship service is run. The contact details of the service to which you wish to address your appeal are specified in the refusal notification.

You will receive the decision of this appeal, indicating either a scholarship agreement or a refusal.
In case of second refusal, you can within 2 months of receipt of this letter appeal to the Minister of National Education or seize the administrative tribunal in litigation.
