Step-by-step approach

The location of the request does not depend on your domicile. You can go to any town hall, provided that it is equipped with a recording station.

You can prepare the process by making a online pre-applicationBut it's not an obligation. Pre-application saves you time when submitting the application.

Pre-application for a 1st passport application

We have to present the documents originals.

  • Your identity card
  • Photo ID less than 6 months old and conforms to standards
  • Proof of address less than 1 year old
  • If you have made the pre-application, the number and/or QR code obtained (if you have not made a pre-application, you will have to fill out and sign the form that will be given to you at the counter)

FYI  

To use a usage name that is not yet on an identity document, other documents must be provided depending on the nature of that second name: name of spouse or name of other parent.

You must purchase a tax stamp in the amount of €86 (€43 in Guyana).

You can buy a tax stamp in a tobacco office if it is equipped with the application Authorized point of sale.

You must go to the place you have chosen with the supporting documents.

The passport is not manufactured on site. It cannot therefore be issued immediately.

Manufacturing times depend on the location and period of the request. For example, as the summer holidays approach, delays may be longer.

If you provided a mobile phone number when you applied, you will receive an SMS when the passport is available.

Track the status of a passport application

The passport must be withdrawn in the 3 months. After this period, the passport is destroyed.

You must personally withdraw it at the place of deposit of the file and sign it on the spot.

The passport is valid 10 years.
