Technical inspection of a collector vehicle: what are the rules?

One collector vehicle is a vehicle of 30 years or older, which is no longer produced, and whose technical characteristics have not been modified.
In 2026, a vehicle registered for the 1re times in 1996 or earlier may be registered as a collector vehicle under conditions.
The rules for roadworthiness testing vary according to the type of vehicle:

It all depends on the date of entry into service of the vehicle:
Vehicle put into circulation from 1960
One collector vehicle put into circulation from 1960 is subject to the obligation of a roadworthiness test. It may be a car or a pickup.
The delay between 2 technical inspections is set to 5 years.
Example :
The technical inspection of a car is carried out on January 15, 2024. It is valid until January 15, 2026.
The car is sold on April 15, 2024.
The new owner asks the same day the registration of the car in use "classic car".
The new certificate of registration (-) shall indicate the entry 'collection', the date of the roadworthiness test (January 15, 2024) and the date of validity of the inspection, the period for which has been extended to 5 years (January 15, 2029).

The time limit to do the technical inspection is different if the vehicle of 30 years or older is not declared collection vehicle.
