Do you qualify for PTZ when you already own a home?

It depends on the nature of the housing. If you own your principal residence, you can get a PTZ: titleContent in some cases only (usufructuary or bare owner housing, disability or disability, housing destroyed by a natural disaster...). If you own another dwelling, without owning your principal residence, you can get a PTZ. We'll explain.

Principal residence

If you own a home who is your principal residence, in order to be eligible for the PTZ, you must be in at least one of the following cases:

Unowned or usufructuary

If you are usufructuary or bare owner of your principal residence, you are not considered to be the owner. So you can claim PTZ.

To obtain the PTZ, you must respect the others criteria for the award of the PTZ. In particular, your resources must not exceed a maximum amount.

Disability or disability

You can claim PTZ provided you are in one of the following situations:

  • You or another prospective home occupant has a mobility card inclusion including the words invalidity
  • You or another prospective home occupant has a disability card of 2e or 3e category (absolute incapacity to work)
  • You or another prospective occupant of the dwelling will collect theAAH: titleContent
  • You or another prospective occupant of the dwelling will collect theAEEH: titleContent.

Natural or technological disaster

When a disaster (natural or technological) has made your principal residence definitely uninhabitable, you can claim PTZ.

To do this, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Apply for PTZ within 2 years of publication in the Official Journal of the order establishing the claim.
  • Attach to PTZ's application proof of the need to build or purchase a new home
  • Fill in the others criteria for the award of the PTZ. In particular, your resources must not exceed a maximum amount.

Already a beneficiary of a PTZ

You can request the transfer of your PTZ when you sell the housing purchased using the PTZ, to buy or build your principal residence. But the conditions to be met depend on the date of the transfer.

Other accommodation

If you own a home who is not your principal residence, you can claim the PTZ.

This is especially the case if you are in one of the following cases:

  • Owner of a second home
  • Holder of shares in a SCI: titleContent
  • Owner of a rental unit.
