Certain bicycles banned on the TGV and Intercités as of December 13

You can board with your bike, on a TGV INOUI or an Intercités train, under certain conditions. To be allowed on board, your bike must, at your choice:

• be undismantled and stored in one of the dedicated spaces on board the train;
• be folding and measure a maximum of 90 x 130 x 50 cm when folded (your bike must then be folded on board the train);
• be dismantled, provided that it is carried in a cover provided for this purpose (the cover must measure a maximum of 90 x 130 x 50 cm).

New restrictions will be added to these regulations as of December 13, 2026. The following bicycles will be prohibited, from this date, within the TGV INOUI and Intercités trains:

• fatbikes (bicycles with very wide tires);
• bicycles with more than 2 wheels;
• and, in general, bicycles whose overall dimensions are greater than those of a conventional bicycle (in other words, if the dimensions of the bicycle are greater than 185 cm in length and 6 cm in tire width).

In addition, as of December 13, it will also be prohibited to board an INOUI TGV or an Intercités train with a gyropod or hoverboard.

Failure to comply with the « baggage on board » regulations of the TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS trains exposes you to a fine of €50 per excess or non-compliant baggage, and up to €150.
