3133, the new national number to report a situation of abuse

Are you worried about a vulnerable adult who is being abused, or are you a victim of it yourself? Since March 1, 2026, you can report these acts to 3133. Public Service inform you.

Victim or witness of abuse of a vulnerable, elderly, disabled or precarious adult? Since 1er march 2026, the national number dedicated to the fight against abuse is the 3133. It replaces the 3977.

Violence, abuse or neglect can take many forms: physical, psychological, sexual, financial or material or institutional. These acts seriously undermine the dignity and fundamental rights of particularly vulnerable people. Even in case of doubt, the 3133 supports you in your approach and provides you with advice if necessary.

How does the 3133 work?

3133 is a free number and is accessible 7 days a week, from 9 am to 8 pm. It can be composed even in case of doubt. He participates in the identification of abuse in order to provide solutions quickly. The 3133 can be composed by all and is open to anyone victim or witness a situation of abuse:

  • an elderly person;
  • an adult with a disability;
  • an adult in a precarious situation;
  • a relative, caregiver or any person who witnesses or is concerned about a vulnerable person.

A professional analyzes your situation and based on the facts:

  • the report relates to acts of abuse, it is transmitted to the competent authority: the regional health agency, the departmental council or the departmental directorate of employment, labor and solidarity. You are informed of the progress of your request by email return.
  • in other cases, you are directed to the right people for your situation.
